I am frequently asked the question, "How did a Intercultural Studies degree get you into photography?" well, I am a firm believer that God forms all our passions together into his calling for our lives. I grew up in a small country half way across the world called Malawi, Africa or better known as "The Warm Heart of Africa". I can honestly tell you from personal experience that you canNOT go to Malawi and not leave feeling loved by a people group I call family. I got my degree in Intercultural Studies because I have a love for the people of this world and I know that it is Jesus' heart in me that has stirred up this great desire. So with this love I have for diverse people groups I also have a love for capturing stories. AND that is how photography came into the picture (no pun intended haha). My ultimate dream job, which I am aspiring towards, is to be a humanitarian photographer. To travel the world with the purpose of capturing God's children in light of how he sees us, beautifully and wonderfully made.
Although humanitarian photography is a dream of mine it does not hinder the fact that I LOVE taking pictures. I love blessing others by revealing how beautiful they are and in return I am given a overwhelming gift of joy. There is a wise African Proverb that says, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." We are stronger together!
A big part of what I do is storytelling so please follow along this journey that the Lord has me on and my hope is that you will be encouraged and inspired to pursue any dream(s) you may have. I urge you to dream BIG because the savior of the universes sees the desires of his children and he responds.
